Cooking Steak ~ Perfect Every Time
Do you have trouble cooking perfect steak? I used to, but not any more! I have found the answer and its not that difficult! Of course the better the steak is to begin with the better it will be when you eat it. I am not one of those people who buys the cheap cuts of steak. If you are going to do that then you need to slow cook your steak. MY mother has always said she couldnt cook steak so what she does is sort of brown it with onions then pop it into a casserole dish with the lid on and slow cook it. Personally, I am not a fan of casseroles or slow cooker meals, just because I don’t like the texture much. I buy really good cuts of steak and we eat smaller portions. I figure if you arte goin g to have something like this, have the best but don’t have great hunks of it. Once a week we buy fillet steak, small pieces LOL
Here is how to cook steak.
Heat your non stick pan with no oil in it. When it is very hot add your steak. Now wait! Watch the steak until the blood starts coming through the top side. When you can see a fair amount of blood turn you steak over. NOTE! You are only going to turn that steak once! That is one of the secrets. When the blood starts coming out of the side on top now, its nearly ready. If someone wants it medium rare then it will be ready, for medium wait a couple more minutes. Rest it for 1 minute before serving it. Enjoy perfect steak every time.
I like to serve my steak with a baked potato and a lovely crisp salad.
One of my favorite things, a well cooked steak, baked spud and salad after a day at the beach. We have a four wheel drive car and we love to drive up to double island point and drive along the beach. There are over 56 kms of what sandy beach contrasting with the blue ocean and no one around if you don’t go at holiday time. A bit of fishing, some sun and a good book and we are in heaven! Check out the picture above , isn’t it gorgeous?
