Cooking Tips for Non Cooks
Today I am giving Cooking Tips to Non Cooks. I saw a new item last night that Jamie Oliver said that there are new mothers and fathers out there who have no idea how to cook. I know I didn’t know how to cook until I went flatting when I was 18. My mother was a great cook but she didn’t have a hope of getting me motivated to try it. So in the end my very domesticated flat mate taught me. I remember them having a great laugh when I was trying to cook some peas and couldn’t understand why the water wouldnt boil. I had a pot FULL of water and a few peas in the bottom! LOL
We are very lucky today to have all sorts of convenience foods available that are still healthy choices.
Here’s one to try
1: Pasta and Pasta sauce.
All you have to do is boil a big pot of eater with a pinch of salt in it, add the pasta when the water boils ( its bubbling) Stir it and cook for about 20 minutes till it is al la dente. You try a piece and see if it taste cooked
Drain the pasta and add the sauce and stir it well. Sprinkle it with cheese and you have a tasty easy meal.
2: Slow Cooked Anything.
Buy a slow cooker and try the following. Go to this website and read everything.
http://www.my-crockpot-recipes.com/
Here”s a recipe to try
Ingredients:
2 Lbs of ground beef
1 bottle of favorite barbecue sauce
1/2 cup sweet relish
2 cans mushrooms
Now:
Brown ground beef and transfer to crockpot. Cook on low for 3 to 4 hours.
TIP:
You don’t need to measure everything at first. Just try things, you could try the above and add in a can of chicken soup or a can of mushroom soup or you could use chicken portions instead of the ground beef.
Try adding diced potatoes in with it. The Slow cooker is a wonderful way to learn to cook as its all done in one dish and if you work you can just pop everything in there in the morning, turn it on, then when you home from work your dinner is ready. ( Don’t forget to turn it on LOL LOL)
Have fun learning, don’t get disheartened if you have a few disasters, we all did at firstLOL
Enjoy!
