Yummy Caramel Tart
Lets set the scene, you are relaxing at home and some friends ring and say they are on their way around. You know its nearly lunchtime and the last thing you want today is to be stuck in the kitchen cooking. On the other hand you know you have a nice salad and a cold roast chicken in the fridge so you are covered. However, they are special friends and you would love to give them a knock out dessert just to top off a wonderful lunch on a beautiful day. You don’t have long though, about 20 minutes.
What to do? In your pantry you need to have a Tin of Nestle Top and Fill Caramel. In your freezer you need some shortcrust pastry and in the fridge you need a large pot of fresh pure cream that you can whip. OK so if you have those, you can make the yummiest dessert ever.
Ingredients:
1 sheet of frozen shortcrust pastry
1 can of Nestle Top and Fill Caramel
Whipped Pure cream
Now:
Put the pastry sheet into a nice serving dish with 2 inch sides.
Cook it in the over on 350F for 10 minutes or until its golden. Let it cool
Tip the thick caramel into a bowl and give it a really good stir around till its smooth.
Tip the caramel onto the pastry and cover with whipped cream.
Refrigerate until its time to serve.
Enjoy!
There is nothing nicer than enjoying the company of good friends. I am a big believer in having a well stocked pantry. You don’t need to have it packed but you do need a few really great quick and easy recipes that you can throw together at a moments notice if you need to. Home made food always comes out on top over store bought items. I quite like the idea of keeping a list of whats in the pantry at all times, when you use something you replace it just like restaurants do. That way you never have to stress about visitors coming and what you are going to feed them. A lovely day, good food and sharing it with friends, what more could you want?
